THE MIZUNO WAVE INSPIRE 19: UNMATCHED STABILITY, NOW EVEN SMOOTHER

The Wave Inspire 19 is designed to provide the experience of smoothness, stability and comfort due to Mizuno Wave technology.

The heavily renovated new model aims on answering a simple question: “How can Mizuno make the Inspire series smoother while providing the same level of unmatched stability?”

The development of this higher-performance stability running shoe has now moved into the propulsive range through the pursuit of a softer landing, a new theory of support, and keeping the Inspire model’s DNA. Hence, despite being Mizuno’s iconic stability shoe, it now incorporates propulsive aspects of its complement: the Wave Rider 26. This is achieved through Mizuno’s ability to create a softer midsole base for better cushioning and landing, sticking to the 12mm heel drop, and creating a new support wave plate based on new theories through biomechanics data. The Wave Inspire 19 provides smooth and supportive properties from both a functional and design perspective.

GET INSPIRED AND MOVE FORWARD WITH PREMIUM SMOOTHNESS & SUPPORT

Whilst carrying well-received upper attributes from previous models such as the gusset tongue construction, the PU print 3D frame, and the medial PU support strap, the Inspire 19 also includes several new unique elements. Firstly, the continuous double-layer jacquard mesh from the toe to the heel gives the Inspire 19 a smooth look from front to back, adding to its aesthetic. Additionally, a durable collar linking mesh has been implemented for a more long-lasting timeless experience, preventing rips or tears.

In regards to the midsole, the lateral side is focused on keeping a soft cushioning bed for heel landing and transition to the forefoot, emphasizing the propulsive silo performance DNA and a softer running sensation. On the medial side, Mizuno has introduced a new supportive Wave design with a supportive yet propulsive outsole pattern and a wide gauge for a supportive cushioning bed. This has been executed by providing support to the key area of the Talus, a bone on the foot that generates the tendency of overpronation. The natural occurrence consists of the runner applying force from their foot to the talus, causing the heel to turn outwards. This support structure essentially eliminates issues of overpronation by targeting its direct cause.

THE STABILITY LEGEND, NOW WITH MAXIMUM ENERGY RETURN

Midsole attributes enforce the Inspire 19’s two core elements that define the pillars of its success; smoothness and stability. The cushioning of the midsole has also improved by the use of enhanced midsole thickness for additional comfort, providing more space between the heel and Wave plate. The improved support design ensures the Talus bone is secured, having the key point of support of the wave plate close to the ground, allowing for an optimized medial wave design.

In regards to the new Wave plate, minimal waves and a flat centre surface were used for a smoother feel, while its whole construction has been reinforced to prevent overpronation. The critical element of smoothness cannot be complete without Mizuno Enerzy, for a softer running sensation. Mizuno Enerzy has been incorporated in the heel and top midsole, elevating the soft sensation compared to its predecessor, which only included Mizuno Enerzy in the heel. In terms of the outsole, the sole gauge has been widened for more stable runs, while the propulsive outsole forefoot generates greater propulsion at the toe-off.

Primary sustainability features include more than 30% recycled materials used on the upper textile, more than 90% recycled materials on the upper lining, and more than 90% recycled materials used on the sock liner. Likewise, the plant-based Wave Plate is designed with Elastollan N series TPU.
